Valparaiso, IN, September 14, 2022 – Blockhead Beerworks, Valparaiso, Indiana’s premier brewstillery, has officially announced that operations to complete the second half of the company’s fanciful description, “brewstillery”, are underway. Blockhead Beerworks began brewing its own beer in the Summer of 2021 only a few months after opening its doors to the public. This fall the company will officially begin distilling under the moniker: Blockhead Stillworks. Stillworks will focus on small batch spirits, starting with Vodka, followed by Gin and Rum later in the year. 

 

“Distilling has always been an integral part of Blockhead’s plan,” said Blockhead Beerworks owner, Cory Muro, “we’re excited to get this process rolling”. Distilling will be led by Raven McKie, who has produced award winning spirits professionally for over six years. McKie gained her education from Moonshine University, the nation’s premier educational distillery. “I’m thrilled to use my experience, knowledge, and love of craft spirits to add something new to our already successful products at Blockhead,” said McKie. The spirits that Stillworks creates will add another level of sophistication to the cocktail program at Blockhead that was also designed by McKie.

 

The distillery is operating within the brewhouse at Blockhead Beerworks. It’s currently running two side-by-side column stills, one of which has a gin basket integration to aid in the infusion of proprietary botanical blends and fresh fruit in future products.
